Life after the BLP 2017

Alive, well & moving forward

The Maidenhead & Cox Green Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group met last week to consider its options following the RBWM decision to proceed with a controversial but largely unaltered Borough Local Plan.

It was recognised that whilst the BLP significantly constrains Neighbourhood Plans it does not negate them. The MNP Steering Group have therefore decided to refocus the emerging Neighbourhood Plan with the aim of maximising its influence on future planning decisions.

Community engagement is at the heart of this process. The greater the community involvement the greater the eventual influence. The Steering Group, therefore,
will be offering further opportunities for resident and business participation.

Councillor Philip Love has stood down as the Chair of the Steering Group to concentrate on RBWM duties and is replaced by the Chair of Cox Green Parish Council, Ian Harvey. The Steering Group recognised Philip’s dedication and significant contribution and thank him warmly.
